Ramat Bet Shemesh, Israel

Mausoleum - Kh. Umm edh-Dhiyab

Project objectives

2D print

(2021-2022)

Overlooking the western slopes of the Judean Hills and Naḥal Zanoaḥ, Khirbat Umm edh-Dhiyab stretches over the top and northern slope of a hill near the eastern end of Ramat Bet Shemesh, approximately 1.2 km north of Ḥorbat Bet Naṭif.
A cemetery situated on a man-made terrace was found adjacent to the agricultural field.
Two burial buildings and more than sixty architectural artifacts were found in the cemetery.

The ability to model every object and structure allowed for a number of educated suggestions on how to restore the site.
